Why is the Test Done?
This test is used for diagnosing acute dengue infection. Dengue virus (DV) is a globally distributed flavivirus transmitted by the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquito. The NS1 antigen is typically detectable within 1 to 2 days following infection and up to 9 days following symptom onset.
