Why is the Test Done?
This tests detects the levels of melatonin in blood, a hormone secrets by the pineal gland. This hormone s responsible for maintaining normal sleep patterns. A disruption in melatonin levels can manifest in a variety of sleep concerns including difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep and chronic insomnia.
