Why is the Test Done?
This is a highly sensitive and specific test for detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, bacteria that causes tuberculosis. This test is used in individuals who are at high risk of tuberculosis like immunocompromised, healthcare workers, travellers, drug users and close contacts of TB patients.
